Bismarck State College is currently participating in a tribute to workers who have lost their lives while on the job. Life-sized silhouettes stand in the lobby of the BSC National Energy Center of Excellence featuring real stories of workplace incidents in North Dakota that claimed the lives of someone's parent, friend, or coworker.

Every year, more than 4,000 workers die on the job and nearly four million are injured or made sick at work. Workers' Memorial Day is held each year on April 28 to honor those workers and renew the commitment to protecting the safety and health of all workers. This week, the North Dakota Safety Council (NDSC) and their members, in partnership with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), are paying tribute to the 47 workers killed on the job in North Dakota in 2015 by placing unique memorials at their sites.

BSC is honored to be chosen to participate in the awareness activity along 10 other businesses across Bismarck-Mandan acknowledging the suffering experienced by families and communities, and renewing their commitment to safety.
