Program Description
This certificate is part of the AAS in Arts Entrepreneurship & Management and BAS in Arts Entrepreneurship & Management. This certificate will cover principles of business, public speaking, entrepreneurship, arts management, principles of information security, and a capstone. It is designed to help those students who have an interest in art learn the business side of the field.
Preparation
Students need to have an interest in art and business or be interested in managing something in the arts discipline.
Program Requirements
Students will study different aspects of business to help them understand their relevance and application to the art field. Students will also complete a capstone course.
Career Opportunities
Many artists and related workers are self-employed, so understanding the business angle can help them succeed. With a wide variety of options, artists may choose to work in advertising and related services, publishing, specialized design services, computer system design, the motion picture and video industry, and more. Competition is keen for both salaried jobs and freelance work.
