Graduation Requirements

Associate in Applied Science (74 credit hours)

To be eligible for graduation, you must complete the following steps:
  • Complete 58 semester credits of technical core courses
  • The required second year labs (6 lab courses, 40 hours each) are completed in 6 weeks during the summer semester on campus.
  • Complete 15 semester credits of general education
  • Complete at least 15 semester credit hours from Bismarck State College
  • Achieve a minimum 2.00 grade point average (C average) in
    • At least 60 semester credit hours less the semester credit hours given for CLEP examinations, military training and life experience
    • All of your Instrumentation and Control technical courses
    • All credits from Bismarck State College
  • Clear all college obligations
  • Submit an Application for Degree at the beginning of the term which you expect to graduate.
NOTE: CLEP examinations, military training and life experience credits are given a grade of satisfactory and do not change your grade point average.
 
Program Certificate (58 credit hours)

Graduates of the certificate program can choose to complete the labs and additional general education courses at a later date to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree.  The program certificate requires no BSC campus attendance and is ideal for employees within the energy industry.

To be eligible for graduation, you must complete the following steps:
  • Complete 52 semester credits of technical core courses
  • Complete 6 semester credits of general education
  • Complete at least 15 semester credit hours from Bismarck State College
  • Achieve a minimum 2.00 grade point average (C average) in
    • All of your Instrumentation and Control technical courses
    • All credits from Bismarck State College
  • Clear all college obligations
  • Submit an Application for Degree at the beginning of the term which you expect to graduate.
