Student Success Stories

bradly_mitchell.jpgOne of BSC's online students was so pleased with his education he traveled to Bismarck to attend commencement on May 9, 2008. Bradley Mitchell walked across the stage at the Bismarck Civic Center and received his Associate in Applied Science degree in Process Plant Technology.

Bradley began working at Tesoro as a relief operator in 1991 and eventually was promoted to an operator.  In 2005, Bradley found out about BSC's Process Plant Technology program by reading a poster that was posted in Tesoro.  He started the online program that fall.  During his enrollment, Bradley was promoted to operations supervisor.  He believes that his enrollment in the program made a difference in his qualifications for the position.

Bradley says he enjoyed the flexibility of the online courses. "The block style courses worked well for me, especially because I am on a shift schedule at Tesoro.  The faculty all did a fantastic job and they really show that they care," he says. "I would recommend the program to anyone interested in a career in the process industry or for someone looking to advance within their company."

Bradley recently visited with 15 of Tesoro's new operators about BSC's program and has even started a library of textbooks in his office to share with anyone who is interested in enrolling.  He credits Tesoro for helping him and others by reimbursing 100% of the tuition costs for passing grades and paying for books.

Congratulations on your accomplishments, Bradley!  Thank you for your dedication to BSC.
