Lineworker- Summer Classes


The Lineworker program degree requirements for summer are the following:
 
LNWK 100 (4456) Introduction to Climbing Techniques          
  • On Campus - 3 credits – 06/14/2021 – 07/04/2021
  • This course is designed for students to learn basic climbing techniques required to be a lineworker. 

LNWK 110 (4457) Equipment Operations
  • On Campus - 3 credits – 06/14/2021 – 07/04/2021
  • A mix of classroom training, outdoor lab work, studying and applying the safe and efficient operation of digger derricks, skid steer loaders, backhoes, and trenchers.

LNWK 104 (5362) Introduction to Truck Driving Techniques is required only if the student does not have a CDL license.
  •  Online - 1 credit – 06/14/2021 – 07/25/2021
  • This online course is designed to give Lineworker students instruction on specific truck driving information. This information will help prepare students to gain the North Dakota Department of Transportation Commercial Driver’s License Permit (CDL), as well as preparation for simulator training, behind the wheel  training, pre-trip and practical examination.
  • Due to the nature of this course (online) we encourage you to bring your laptop.
 
Next Steps
  • Students who have a CDL will not be required to register for LNWK 104 but must complete the prior learning process. The Alternative Learning Coordinator will assist students with this process the first week of fall semester classes.
