BSC In-Demand Careers Scholarship

Start or return to finish your degree for FREE with an in-demand career program at BSC in 2023!


The In-Demand Careers Scholarship at BSC has been created to remove financial barriers for individuals to pursue an education preparing them for an in-demand career as well as provide a bridge for individuals who have experienced workforce challenges due to COVID.

This opportunity is available to individuals enrolling in classes after Jan. 18, 2023, in a qualifying program (full or part-time) for the 2023 Spring and Summer semesters. Scholarship funding will be awarded to new and former BSC students enrolling in program areas that align with the Job Service North Dakota In-Demand Occupation List. Scholarship recipients will receive their tuition, fees and textbooks paid in full up to $6,000* and can begin classes as early as Feb. 6.
*Average BSC tuition and fees are $2,571.60 per semester for 12 credits (full-time).

The In-Demand Careers Scholarship is supported with American Rescue Plan Act funds distributed by the ND Dept. of Commerce as a grant to the BSC Foundation. The $315,477 in total scholarship funding will be awarded until June 30, 2023, or until funds run out, so don’t wait to apply!

The BSC In-Demand Careers Scholarship is perfect for:

  • Individuals looking to begin their degree

  • Individuals with previous college credits looking to continue or finish their degree

  • Industry professionals looking to upskill with a certificate, associate or bachelor's degree

 

All scholarship applicants must:

  • Apply and be accepted to Bismarck State College

  • Enroll in an In-Demand Career program (see list above) for the Spring 2023 and/or Summer 2023 semesters

  • Provide a statement of financial need on their scholarship application

  • Be a citizen of the United States, nationals of the United States (as defined in section 101(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act), aliens admitted as refugees under section 207 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence

    • Please note that Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) individuals are ineligible for support from this solicitation unless they meet the requirements listed in the first sentence of this bullet by the time of application.
