ecommercessmd9WEB.jpgThe Dakota Institute along with its 24,000+ books and DVDs became part of Bismarck State College in 2017. The collection is managed and marketed by BSC's business and management students working closely with the BSC Bookstore and other entities on campus.

The collection includes stories of Meriwether Lewis, Theodore Roosevelt and other anecdotes from the Northern Prairie. Several pieces are penned by scholar and author Clay Jenkinson.

The Dakota Institute was established in 2010 by the Lewis and Clark Fort Mandan Foundation. Along with the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn, the Dakota Institute became part of North Dakota Parks and Recreating in 2015.
