BSC and DSU music faculty perform in a recital Sept. 11

Six members of the Bismarck State College music faculty, one from Dickinson State University and a special guest will perform in a recital Sunday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m. in Sidney J. Lee Auditorium.
Selections range from classical to contemporary.
Michael Langer opens the program with two pieces by John Adams, “China Gates,” and “Road Movies.” Special guest Laura Prokopyk will accompany him on “Road Movies.” Clyde Bauman, tenor, sings “Adelaide” by Beethoven, and two vocal pieces by Benjamin Britton. Christine Ballenger follows with an unaccompanied clarinet solo “Abyss of the Birds” by Oliver Messian. Langer, Baumann and Ballenger are all adjunct instructors at BSC.
BSC Choral Director Andrew Miller, bass, presents his own vocal composition “Come to me,” and Associate Music Professor Dawn Hagerott, soprano, sings “Ganymed” by Franz Schubert. BSC Professor of Music John Darling follows on saxophone with “Piece in G minor” by Gabriel Pierne.
DSU Assistant Professor of Music Jeremy Wohletz will play “Double Life” for solo clarinet by Eric Mandat.
