Road construction season is in full swing and work on I-94 through Bismarck and Mandan does include Exit 157 to Bismarck State College.
The five-mile-long project begins west of the Grant Marsh Bridge and continues east of Exit 161 (Bismarck Expressway.) Work consists of concrete pavement repair, asphalt overlays and bridge work.
I-94 will be open to traffic at all times throughout this process, utilizing a combination of lane closures and head-to-head traffic. A 12-foot width restriction is in place and the speed limit is reduced to 45 mph or lower throughout the construction zone. Construction work is expected to be completed in late fall.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) encourages local motorists, which include businesses and commuters, to plan ahead throughout construction season to avoid commute delays.
