High Achiever Applicant Waiver Procedure/Application

Pursuant to SBHE Policy 820, BSC may offer a waiver to BSC students meeting eligibility requirements.
 
Waiver Details:
  1. The amount of the waiver will not exceed $2000.00.
  2. Award is up to $500.00 per semester.
  3. Eligibility is determined prior to the start of the term. 
  4. Waiver is guaranteed through four consecutive semesters (fall and spring only)
  5. Waiver is for new BSC applicants applying a first-year freshman
  6. Student must register for a minimum of 12 credits.
  7. Awards are first-come first-served.
 
Eligibility Requirements:
  1. Student must apply and be accepted for admission.
  2. Student must meet one of the following test score/GPA requirements:
    1. Minimum 25 ACT score
    1. Minimum 3.4 cumulative high school grade point average (GPA)
  3. Students must meet be a new applicant to BSC as First Year Freshman (prior early entry applications to BSC do not disqualify a student from receiving this waiver).
  4. Applicants must have submitted final HS transcripts and ACT scores to BSC by August 15 for the Fall term of the academic year in which they will enroll
  5. ACT scores must be dated within 5 years
  6. Student must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits.
 
Application Process:
  1. Student must meet all BSC admission requirements and be accepted for enrollment.
  2. BSC Admissions Director will review all applications received by August 15 for eligible unweighted GPA and ACT scores.
  3. BSC Admissions Director will notify qualifying students of award.
 
Selection and Awarding Process:
  1. Awards will be determined by HS GPA and ACT scores that were provided to BSC by August 15 of the academic year in which they are enrolling.
  2. Admissions will notify Student Finance to apply waivers.
 
Withdraws/Revocation:
  1. Students who withdraw will be subject to the refund policy consistent with NDUS policy 830.2 and will be responsible for any outstanding balance on their student account.
  2. The BSC Admissions Director may administratively revoke this waiver at any time during the semester.  The student will be responsible for any outstanding balance on their student account.  
 
Monitoring:
  • Renewal/Continuation of the waiver program will be at the discretion of the VP of Academic Affairs.
