BAS Course Waiver

One Free BAS Course Waiver Procedure/Application

Pursuant to SBHE Policy 820, BSC may offer a waiver for one free BAS course at BSC to students meeting eligibility requirements.
 
Waiver Details:
  1. The amount of the waiver will not exceed the base tuition for one 300-level course. 
  2. Eligibility is determined prior to the start of the term. 
  3. Waiver is not renewable.
  4. Student is responsible for fees, textbooks, and any other costs. 
  5. Student must be enrolled in courses and making progress toward degree.
  6. Student must register for a minimum of 6 credits.
  7. Awards are first-come-first-served.
 
Eligibility Requirements:
  1. Applicant must apply and be accepted for admission.
  2. Student must meet one of the following criteria:
    • Completed an appropriate certificate or AAS degree (industry and/or military experience may also be considered) and enrolls in Energy Management, Operations Management, or the Mechatronic Engineering Technology program.
    • Completed a certificate or an AAS in Cybersecurity and enrolls in a BAS in Cybersecurity. 
  3. Student must be degree-seeking at BSC
  4. Student must be registered for a minimum of 6 credits
  5. Student must not have been enrolled at BSC in the prior summer, fall, or spring term. 
 
Application Process:
  1. Student must meet all BSC admission requirements and be accepted for enrollment.
 
Selection and Awarding Process:
  1. Department will select applicants based on criteria
  2. Student Finance to apply waivers.
 
Withdraws/Revocation:
  • Students who withdraw will be subject to the refund policy consistent with NDUS policy 830.2 and will be responsible for any outstanding balance on their student account.
 
Monitoring:
  • Renewal/Continuation of the waiver program will be at the discretion of the VP of Academic Affairs.
