The 39th annual Energy Generation Conference runs Jan. 23-25 filling the Bismarck Event Center Exhibit Hall with an expanded exhibitor showcase and training for more than 2,000 energy workers from across the United States and Canada.

One of the premier energy industry conferences in North America, the EGC offers professional development in all areas of energy production from engineering and environment to safety and support services.

Coordinated by Bismarck State College Continuing Education and TrainND, the conference begins with pre-conference training all day Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the Bismarck Event Center Exhibit Hall. The Exhibitor Showcase, the only event open to the public, runs 4:30 to 6 p.m. and features more than 300 vendors.
 
Full-day workshops will be held on Jan. 23 with topics ranging from “Employee Performance Management” to “The Five Choices of Extraordinary Productivity.” A tour of Great River Energy’s Coal Creek Station will be available for attendees.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 24 and Jan. 25, keynote speakers Brad Livingston and his daughter Kayla Rath will present “Just a Second Ago”, the story of how Brad’s life was forever changed when he and a coworker chose not to follow safety procedures and in result, suffered third degree burns across 63% of his body.

Also on Wednesday and Thursday, concurrent information sessions will be held for key areas such as engineering, electrical, environmental, instrumentation, mechanical, operations, safety, and professional development. Topics to be addressed include best practices for oil storage, working with two-mode analog controllers, and a Waters of the United States update addressing regulatory changes facing the regional utility industry.
