The Community for Accredited Online Schools, a leading resource for higher education and college accreditation information, has recognized Bismarck State College as the #6 Best Paramedic Program in the Nation for the 2016-17 school year.

“The U.S. Department of Labor shows the job outlook for paramedics is extremely favorable over the next decade,” said Doug Jones, CEO and Founder of the Community for Accredited Online Schools. “The schools on this list are raising the bar when it comes to paramedic education, providing the best combination of affordability and quality to their students.”

To qualify for this ranking higher education institutions must hold public or private not-for-profit status and carry institutional accreditation. Top schools are determined by using a value-based methodology that analyzes more than a dozen qualitative and quantitative data points. More than a dozen different school-specific metrics, from graduation rates to student-teacher ratios, are weighed against one another to determine individual school scores and placement on rankings.

For a complete list of paramedic programs for 2016-2017 and more information on the methodology used to rank each school, visit AccreditedSchoolsOnline.org. BSC is listed as a four-year school because it offers a BAS in Energy Management.

Paramedic study at BSC begins in the fall and encompasses three semesters of classroom and hospital clinical/field education. For information about BSC’s Paramedic program visit bismarckstate.edu/academics.
