BSC fall theater production opens Oct. 20

Bismarck State College Theatre Arts opens its season Oct. 20-23 with a play that honors the 400
th
anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death.
“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” is a hilarious twist on the classic tales of the Bard that features a team of actors trying to perform all 38 of his plays in one single night of theatre. Fast-paced, witty, and physical, it's an evening of laughter for Shakespeare lovers and haters alike.
“I think Shakespeare would probably appreciate the irony of celebrating the 400th anniversary of his death by lovingly deconstructing his writings, by making a loving mockery of the intellectual approbation of the Bard as the greatest, most important, most talented, most vaunted writer in the history of the world,” says director and BSC Assistant Professor of Theatre Danny Devlin.
Cast members are Alicia Billock (Mott), Alexis Larson (Carrington), and Meghan McNeil (Bismarck) as the Players, and Michael Bercier (Bismarck), Margaret Brink (Bismarck), Hannah Hertz (Carson), and Jasmyn Williams (Mandan) as the Ensemble.
Assisting Devlin is designer and technical director Dean Bellin, stage manager Carly Willoughby (Bismarck) and assistant stage manager Grace Peterson (Mandan), and sound designer Frank Vondra (Park River).
Shows are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Sidney J. Lee Auditorium.
New this year, reserved seat tickets can be purchased online at
bsctheatre.com
