The Bismarck State College Mystic baseball team will open the 2017 season in Tucson, Ariz., March 11 at the Tucson Invitational Games. The Mystics will play 10 games in seven days at Kino Sports Complex, the former spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Chicago White Sox.
The trip opens with doubleheaders March 11-12 followed by a single game March 13. March 14 is an off day before playing two more doubleheaders March 15-16 and closing out the trip with a single game March 17.
The Mystics are coached by head coach Corby McGlauflin and assistant coach Chad Cox. This will be the first-ever spring trip for the Mystics and will coincide with spring break at BSC. The 19-member team worked hard fundraising through the fall and winter, raising over $15,000 for this trip. The Mystics will feature a nice core of six veterans along with 13 freshmen on the 2017 squad. See the BSC baseball roster here.
The 2017 season will be played in honor and memory of BSC Mystic baseball player Ben Berg who passed away early this fall. Their baseball caps this season feature Berg's initials and his number 13.
