Bismarck State College holds its 10th annual President’s Run Friday, July 14, to raise money for the Don Bigwood Scholarship fund held by the BSC Foundation.
Motorcycle and car enthusiasts are welcome to join BSC President Larry C. Skogen and family, friends, colleagues and students of retired BSC Professor of Mathematics Don Bigwood for this year’s run to Minot. Participants will enjoy lunch at the Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot followed by a tour of the Dakota Territory Air Museum and a special exhibit of the Texas Flying Legends Warbirds (WWII aircraft) before returning to Bismarck.
Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. with departure at 10 a.m. from the BSC Jack Science Center parking lot. A $110 registration per vehicle is requested.
Inducted into BSC’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010 and bestowed BSC Professor Emeritus status in 2011, Bigwood taught at Bismarck State College for 45 years; first as associate professor of mathematics, then as adjunct and tutor. In recognition of his dedication to education, the Don Bigwood Scholarship Fund supports students pursuing math and engineering.
For those unable to participate in the ride, donations to the Don Bigwood Scholarship fund can be made directly to the BSC Foundation, PO Box 5587, Bismarck, N.D. 58506-5587. For more information and to sign-up, call 701-224-2410 or email
