Bismarck State College will soon be welcoming students to campus for the Fall 2020 semester. The annual back-to-school excitement comes with a little extra this year – the challenges of COVID-19.

To make the campus a safe and healthy environment for students, employees and the public, BSC has published the BSC Smart Start Return to Campus Guide. This guide serves as a resource for the BSC community to navigate evolving COVID-19 situation and will be revised in response to changing circumstances and relevant guidance.

Outlined in the BSC Smart Start Return to Campus Guide is the BSC COVID-19 Risk Level System – a five-level system based on the ND Department of Health’s risk level determination and similar to that used by other North Dakota higher education institutions. The risk level system provides general guidelines regarding what’s allowable for academic, student life and other activities during COVID-19. The guidelines are subject to change based on new information from the CDC and State of North Dakota. Exceptions may apply.

As of August 7, 2020, the state identified the risk level at green or Level 2.
REQUIRED FOR RISK LEVEL 2 –LOW RISK
  • Maintain physical distance of at least 6 feet

  • Face coverings are required in all campus settings (per policy)

  • Wash your hands often and use hand sanitizer

  • Do not touch your face

  • Clean surfaces frequently

  • If experiencing symptoms, stay home and call your healthcare provider
