The North Dakota Young Professionals Network has named Bismarck State College a runner-up in the 2014 Best Place to Work competition.
This is the North Dakota network's first statewide recognition of BSC, which has received several local awards from the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network affiliate.
BSC made the Bismarck-Mandan Top 10 Places to Work list in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. The college was among those businesses and organizations selected for the local network's first awards in 2007.
North Dakota's Best Place to Work awards recognize businesses that provide high quality jobs and a work environment that welcomes and supports young professionals in furthering economic, workforce and community development initiatives across the state.
Started by North Dakota Young Professionals in 2008, the Best Place to Work awards coincide with the Best Place to Intern awards. Both reflect the creativity and innovation that businesses offer young professionals. For more information, visit

About Bismarck State College

Best Place Awards
The Best Place to Work and Intern awards, started by the NDYP in 2008, are a reflection of the creativity and innovation that businesses offer young professionals. To be considered for the award, applicants must submit a detailed questionnaire about company benefits, advancement opportunities, and why their business is an outstanding place for young professionals to work. A statewide committee of NDYP judges reviews nominees, and determines winners and runners-up (if applicable). Winners are selected based on a pre-set criterion examining how the business benefits individuals, how the organization supports local YP networks and YP development, and how the company gives back to the community. Extra attention is paid to unique best practices that are used to develop the work environment and create opportunities for individuals.
About NDYP
In July 2006, Gov. John Hoeven, in collaboration with the Center for Technology & Business, hosted a statewide summit for young professionals. In response to the summit, Young Professionals organizations across the state united to form North Dakota Young Professionals under the leadership, guidance, and commitment of the Center for Technology & Business. CTB continues to operate NDYP as a program of CTB with the support of CTB staff.
