Holiday concert set for Dec. 18 at BSC
Bismarck State College Music program features a variety of its performing ensembles, combos and choirs, both instrumental and vocal, in the annual BSC Holiday Concert Wednesday, Dec. 18.
 
This tribute to the Christmas season mixes traditional and sacred music with familiar carols and contemporary songs presented under the direction of several BSC music faculty.
           
Individual and combined groupings will rotate on the Sidney J. Lee Auditorium stage for the 7:30 p.m. concert. Performing seasonal selections are the Men’s Ensemble with violinist Laura Prokopyk, Woodwind Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Women’s Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Mixed Chamber Choir with soloists Kalee Goetz, Naomi Chaffee and Ashley Steffenson, the Concert Choir, and Wind Ensemble.
 
The concert closes with “Hallelujah Chorus,” a combined finale of the Wind Ensemble and Concert Choir. Directing the ensembles are Dawn Hagerott, John Warren, Dr. John Darling, Clyde Bauman, and Dr. Jeff Stone. Nancy Darling and Beth Weiss are the concert accompanists.
 
The BSC Holiday Concert is presented to the community at no charge.
