The first recital by a senior music student at Bismarck State College takes place at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22, in Sidney J. Lee Auditorium.
Mezzo soprano Katherine Kirschmann of Bismarck presents “Timeless,” her senior voice recital in fulfillment of a Bachelor of Science in music education, a degree awarded by Dickinson State University.
She will perform classical works by Debussy, Barber, Mozart, Purcell and Brahms, and American composer Hoagy Carmichael.
Kirschmann was student speaker at BSC’s 2014 commencement and one of the first students to take advantage of the new four-year music degree collaboration between DSU and BSC. The program began in fall 2014.
In practice, students enroll at BSC the first two years and take two years of advanced classes from DSU and some music classes from BSC faculty. All performance requirements are fulfilled at BSC.
