The North Dakota State Science Olympiad coordinating team at Bismarck State College is calling for middle school and high school student teams to register for the Regional Science Olympiad in Bismarck on March 31, 2016.

Students will compete in individual events at the regional tournament with a chance to compete at the state level in Fargo on April 16, and the national competition in May.

In addition to Bismarck, the other North Dakota regional tournaments will take place in Minot, Bottineau, Valley City and Dickinson.

Students compete in teams of 15 in one of two divisions. Division B is for grades six to nine, while Division C is for grade nine to 12.

Science teachers from area middle and high schools are invited to register their team(s) online at ndsu.edu/olympiad. The $170 (per team) registration fee pays for National Science Olympiad membership, as well as for attendance at all competitions for which a team qualifies. It also includes a copy of the rules manual that describes the events.

More information can be found at the North Dakota State Science Olympiad website at ndsu.edu/olympiad or the National Science Olympiad website at soinc.org.
