Twelve Bismarck State College faculty members were granted tenure by the State Board of Higher Education at its April meeting.
 
Approved candidates and their new rank are:
 
Tayo Basquiat, associate professor of philosophy; Karen Bauer, associate professor of journalism/Mystician advisor; Dean Bellin, associate professor of technical theatre; Kevin Cavanagh, associate professor of management; Craig Dolbeare, associate professor of mechanical maintenance technology; Katrina Eberhart, associate professor of mathematics;
 
Andrew Miller, associate professor of music; Karen Nathe, associate professor of computer information systems; David Peterson, associate professor of mathematics; Mark Steele, associate professor of engineering technology and geographic information systems; Vanessa Taylor, associate professor of surgical technology; and Anita Wirtz, associate professor of psychology.
 
To be considered for tenure, faculty must have taught six years at BSC, present an application portfolio, be recommended by the Faculty Senate’s Tenure Committee, and receive endorsement from the college president.
