This is a program for those who would like to work with children in an early childhood or elementary academic setting as the key assistant to the classroom teacher. It provides preparation for becoming certified as a Title I Paraprofessional, the certification that is required in the highest needs schools (low socioeconomic status, low achieving). This credit-bearing coursework can be applied to the BAS in Foundations of Teaching at BSC and can be applied to licensing programs in Early Childhood Education and/or Elementary Education at other institutions.

Students enrolled in this certificate program can select to complete the Title I Paraprofessional and ND Substitute License sequence, and/or complete either or both of the bachelor's degrees at BSC in Foundations of Teaching (BAS) and an Early Childhood and/or Elementary Education teaching licensure program at a partner institution (B.S.Ed.).
