BSC/UMary BAS Transfer Agreement

Bismarck State College is pleased to announce a transfer agreement with University of Mary that creates a streamlined pathway for students pursuing degrees in Sports and Exercise Science. At BSC you can earn your BAS in Sports & Exercise Science and apply to any of the following graduate programs at the University of Mary:
  • Clinical Exercise Physiology (online program)

  • Kinesiology (online program)

  • Athletic Training (residential program)

  • Occupational Therapy Masters or Doctorate (residential program)

  • Physical Therapy Doctorate (residential program)

Students who are enrolled in the BAS in Sports and Exercise Science program at BSC are eligible for:
  • Personalized advice from UMary personnel
  • Priority admission during their junior undergraduate year
  • Priority points in the graduate program admission process.
Students can apply for priority admission if they:
  • In progress toward completing the bachelor’s degree (60-89 credits)
  • Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 on a 4.00 scale.

  • 2-year blended program (online and in person lab weeks).

Kinesiology
  • 2-year online program
  • Prerequisite courses:
    • Anatomy & Physiology I
Athletic Training
  • 5-semester residential program
  • Prerequisite courses:
    • General Biology
    • Anatomy & Physiology I
    • Anatomy & Physiology II
    • Chemistry with lab (one semester)
    • Physics with lab (one semester)
    • Statistics
    • 2 Psychology courses
    • Exercise Physiology
    • Medical Terminology

Occupational Therapy Masters or Doctorate
  • 2-year (6 semester) master’s degree or a 2.25 (7 semester) doctoral degree
  • In-person in Bismarck, hybrid in Fargo, ND and Billings, MT
  • Priority admissions to others who apply during junior year. Must have completed:
    • Anatomy & Physiology I
    • Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or Psychological Disorders and Treatment
    • Either Anatomy & Physiology II, General Chemistry with lab, Physics with lab, or Statistics
  • All remaining prerequisite courses must be completed prior to beginning the program:
    • Anatomy & Physiology II with lab
    • General Chemistry with lab (one semester) OR Physics with lab (one semester)
    • Statistics
    • Introduction to Psychology
    • Psychological Disorders and Treatment
    • Developmental Psychology

Physical Therapy Doctorate
  • 3-year residential program
  • Prerequisite courses:
    • Two biological courses (botany, zoology, evolution, and ecology are not accepted)
    • Anatomy & Physiology I with lab
    • Anatomy & Physiology II with lab
    • General Chemistry I with lab
    • General Chemistry II with lab
    • Physics I with lab
    • Physics II with lab
    • Statistics
    • Two courses beyond Introduction to Psychology
      • Psychological Disorders and Treatment
      • Developmental Psychology
