The Bismarck State College (BSC) Mystics Men's Basketball team is headed to Boise, Idaho, for an exhibition matchup against the NCAA Division I Boise State Broncos on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m. (CT). While the Mystics take the court at ExtraMile Arena on the Boise State campus, fans back home can join the excitement at a free community watch party on the BSC campus.

The Bismarck-Boise matchup offers the Mystics a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience against high-level competition and showcases BSC’s athletics program on a national stage. An anonymous donor is covering the team's airfare, making the trip possible and providing BSC student-athletes a unique opportunity to compete in a Division I basketball environment.

"This exhibition game gives our men’s basketball team a chance to test their skills. Facing a team like Boise State will challenge our players and help prepare them for the season ahead,” says BSC Director of Athletics Jason Harris.

As an NAIA institution, BSC can schedule exhibition contests against non-NAIA opponents to provide additional competitive preparation ahead of regular-season conference play. Exhibition games do not count toward official team or individual statistics, win-loss records or coaching records.

“Opportunities like this are about more than basketball. They’re about growth, building confidence and representing BSC on a bigger stage. This will give them an experience they’ll remember long after the final buzzer,” Harris says.

Mystics fans in Bismarck can be part of the excitement during a live watch party Thursday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m. (CT) in Mystic Marketplace, located inside the BSC Student Union, 1425 Schafer St., on campus. The game will be livestreamed on all screens, giving students, employees, season ticket holders, alumni and community members an opportunity to cheer on the Mystics together. The free event will feature pizza, beverages, prize giveaways and plenty of Mystic pride. The watch party is open to the public and all fans are encouraged to wear Mystics gear.

Meanwhile, in Boise, the BSC Foundation and BSC National Alumni Association will host a pregame social at Boise Brewing to bring together BSC alumni, donors and Mystics fans from the Boise area.
