This FREE immersive one-day camp introduces high school juniors and seniors with disabilities to the exciting world of robotics and automation. Participants will engage in hands-on learning by building and programming a tabletop robot and operating a fully functional robotic arm. Each student will receive a Robotic Arm Kit and a Tabletop Robot to take home, fostering continued exploration beyond the camp.
Through themed challenges such as obstacle courses and line-following tasks, students will apply block-based or text-based coding to bring their robots to life. The camp integrates sensors like ultrasonic, light, sound, and line-following to enable environmental interaction and complexity. Emphasis is placed on testing, refinement, and collaborative problem-solving, helping students develop critical STEM skills and confidence in technology.
This camp is available for high school juniors and seniors with disabilities, including auditory/communicative disabilities, physical disabilities, intellectual and learning disabilities, and psychological and psychosocial disabilities. *Paraprofessionals and student mentors are welcome to attend with the registered student.
Capacity is limited to 8 participants.
