XR for VR Robotics & Advanced Technology Day Camp

xr for vr camp(Adults ages 18+ with disabilities)
July 16 | 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM 

Location: Bismarck State College Campus - National Energy Center of Excellence & Advanced Technology Center

This immersive, one-day experience is designed for young adults ages 18–25 with disabilities, offering a supportive environment to explore the exciting world of robotics, automation, and extended reality technologies.

Participants will dive into hands-on learning as they:
  • Build and program a tabletop robot
  • Operate a fully functional robotic arm
  • Explore real-world applications of robotics and automation
Students take on exciting challenges like navigating obstacle courses and completing line-following tasks. Along the way, they use coding to bring their robots to life and discover how sensors such as light, sound, and ultrasonic help robots respond to the world around them. Through testing, refining, and working together, participants strengthen their problem-solving abilities.
Learn valuable skills:
This camp helps build confidence with technology while developing valuable STEM skills. Students gain hands-on experience, improve critical thinking, and learn the importance of collaboration in a fun and encouraging setting.

Each student will take home: 
A Robotic Arm Kit
A Tabletop Robot

 

Cyber Savvy Camp (Grades 9-12)

Cyber Savvy Camp Flyer7/21 - 7/22
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Explore computer hardware, understand network operations, examine cyber threats, and learn how individuals and organizations protect information and technology. Taught by BSC professors, students will learn core concepts including cyber safety, networking basics, networking hardware, and computer hardware components. This interactive camp blends instructor-led learning with hands-on exploration. 
Location: Bismarck State College Campus - National Energy Center of Excellence, Advanced Technology Center, and the Technical Center

Cyber Quest Academy (Grades 6–8)

Cyber Quest Camp Flyer7/27 - 7/31
8:15 AM - 4:15 PM

A five-day summer digital experience at Bismarck State College designed for students entering grades 6–8 who are interested in learning more about technology and cybersecurity. Through interactive lessons and hands-on activities, students are introduced to important concepts such as online safety, digital responsibility, how computers work, computer careers, and the many ways technology is used in today’s world. Instruction is led by experienced high school and BSC faculty. No prior technology experience is required. Lunch is included on site.

Camp Meals:
Breakfast will not be provided. Campers will be provided with lunch each day.
Camp Check-In & Pick-Up Policy:
All children must be checked in by 8:00 AM each morning of camp and picked up by 4:30 PM each evening. Timely arrival and pick-up help ensure a smooth and safe experience for all participants.
