Programs We Support

The BSC Foundation provides support and recognition to Bismarck State College through a variety of programs. Each of these programs is made possible because of thousands of benefactors who support the Foundation with cash contributions and other gifts. We are pleased to be able to share their generosity with the students of BSC and the college.

Jack Fellowship

Endowed through the generous support of Tom and Peg Jack to remove financial obstacles and make the dream of education come true, the BSC Jack Fellowship Program funds sabbatical leave for a Bismarck State College employee to engage in an educational experience that ultimately benefits the institution and its students. By helping an individual achieve their goal, the Jacks’ hope to invest in the future of BSC one person at a time through an annual monetary award of up to $25,000, which is intended to partially underwrite the recipient's salary and/or expenses to enhance their professional performance. For more information or to learn about eligibility requirements, please contact the Foundation office.

Student Recognition

Student Recognition Program
The Student Recognition Program is designed to recognize students for their exemplary academic efforts, community service, citizenship, athletics, volunteer service, exceptional leadership skills and initiative, etc. It is our way to let our students know how important they are and to show our appreciation for their amazing dedication to their education and for the work that they do on campus and in the community. Students are honored with awards at the Student Recognition Ceremony in April of each year.

Outstanding Student Awards
Outstanding Student Awards are given to the students selected by faculty in each of BSC's programs and departments. These outstanding students receive a certificate and $50 cash award from the BSC Foundation. They are honored at the BSC Recognition Ceremony.

Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa is an international two-year college honor society. Students nominated for membership have maintained an accumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have completed 12 semester hours in residence at BSC applicable to an associate degree. The Phi Theta Kappan receives a paid initiation fee for membership, a pin, and a certificate from the BSC Foundation. They are honored at the BSC Recognition Ceremony.

Employee Recognition

The heart and soul of Bismarck State College can be found in the people who work here: the Faculty, Staff and Administrators. Every day, our people give of themselves in extraordinary ways, in order to help all students reach higher levels of success. The BSC Foundation deeply appreciates all those who work on behalf of students at BSC, and gives special recognition to those individuals whose work goes "above and beyond".
