Inspiring Tomorrow: CTE Educator Workshop

This summer, Bismarck State College hosted the Inspiring Tomorrow: CTE Educator Workshop, a four-day, hands-on professional development experience for K–16 Career and Technical Education teachers from across North Dakota. The workshop proved to be a transformative experience. Educators left energized, reporting significant growth in their understanding of modern career pathways, Industry 4.0 technologies, and assistive tools for students with disabilities. Nearly all participants gained confidence in explaining Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) and planned to bring hands-on learning, from robotics and drones to virtual and augmented reality, directly into their classrooms. Participants highlighted industry tours, interactive sessions, and real-world applications as the most impactful aspects of the week, demonstrating that Inspiring Tomorrow equips teachers with cutting-edge tools and inspiration to prepare the next generation for the evolving workforce.

Assistive Tech Tour

From August 12–14, XR for VR partnered with CVXR and ND Assistive to film the Assistive Technology Tour in the Flex Lab at the Advanced Technology Center. Three participants explored around 10 different assistive devices, with the experience captured in 360° video for an immersive look at the equipment and its applications. After filming the devices were also 3D printed and along with the videos, are now featured on our site.
