Program Description
The National Energy Center of Excellence (NECE) is proud to offer the online Electrical Transmission Systems Technology (ETST) program.  The ETST program was created in response to industry demand for qualified system operators.

The program is designed to teach students about the electrical power system in North America, including basic electricity, generation, distribution and transmission, with a strong emphasis on system operations.  System operations is the aspect of the energy industry that deals with the management, delivery, safety and reliability of the wholesale electrical power market.

The program is approved to offer North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) continuing education hours (CEHs) combined with college credit for those who wish to maintain certification requirements and work towards a college degree.

Students have the following options:
  • Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Electrical Transmission Systems Technology
  • Program Certificate in Electrical Transmission Systems Technology
  • College Courses for Professional Development
  • CEH-only Courses for NERC Certification
Access to course work will be available 24/7 over the Internet, making participation flexible for shift workers already in the industry.
