BSC event focused on encouraging women to enter the energy industry

Published: Feb 26 2015

As the energy industry in North Dakota continues to play an important role in the state's economy, more and more women are finding their future in a high-paying energy career. Bismarck State College is holding a one day event for high school girls interested in learning more about their opportunities in the energy industry.

This event will be held at the National Energy Center of Excellence on the BSC campus on March 11 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Girls will have the chance to explore the energy industry in a hands-on, interactive way.

Attendees will make biodiesel, create circuits, and build a wind tower, all while learning about the career opportunities in the energy industry.  Women who have worked in the field will share their experiences and answer questions about what life is like in a traditionally male-dominated environment.

The camp is free and lunch will be provided; however, space is limited.  To register, visit energy.bismarckstate.edu/nece/non-traditional-careers/ or call 701-701-224-5651.
