North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum announced Thursday, Sept. 3, that Burleigh County and Morton County are now designated as moderate risk for COVID-19, or the color yellow on the risk level chart, following the North Dakota Smart Restart Plan.

Bismarck State College will also move to the yellow risk level. According to the BSC Smart Start Guide, this move to the yellow level activates two additional precautions:

  • No outside guests allowed in the BSC residence halls
  • No visitation between rooms allowed in the BSC residence halls

BSC students returned to campus on Aug. 25 for the Fall 2020 semester with a multilayer protection process in place. This includes hybrid classes, enhanced hygiene, mask requirements, testing and an emphasis on personal accountability. Due to these precautions already in place on campus, no other changes to BSC’s instructional or campus models will be required at this time.

BSC will continue to provide the best possible in-person classroom and experience while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students, employees and the public. To learn more about BSC’s approach visit www.bismarckstate.edu/BSCSmartStart.
