Public Safety Services
BSC Campus Police offers several free services to students, faculty and staff throughout the year. To utilize these services, please call 701-224-2700. In order to help keep campus a safe place to live, learn and work, Safety and Security holds various free safety classes throughout the year. From self-defense to first aid, our goal is to help prepare as many people as possible in the case of an emergency.
Services
Safety Escorts
Safety escorts are provided by Safety and Security from 7:30am-12:00 midnight Monday thru Friday. Give us a call if you need a safety escort from one location to another. Please note we only offer safety escorts up to a two-block radius surrounding campus.

Classes
Rape Aggression Defense
Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) is a comprehensive, women-only self-defense course beginning with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing to the basics of hands-on defense training. RAD is not a martial arts program, but instead focuses on a woman’s natural abilities to defend herself.
CPR/First Aid/AED
BSC Safety and Security offers two free CPR/First Aid/AED training classes to the BSC Community each semester. Dates and times will be posted on Mystic Mobile and be filled on a first come basis. Classes will be limited to the first 20 registrants each date.
Personal Safety Training
BSC Safety and Security offers safety and security training to the campus community over the course of the calendar year. Classes include, but are not limited to:
- Active Aggressor/Personal Safety
- Basic Emergency Preparedness
- Basic Fire Safety
- Traveling Safely
- R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense)
- Living Safely and Securely in University Housing
